The Word became Flesh
(John 1:14-17 RSV) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father… 16 And from his fulness have we all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
It is the season of Lent and..
O Lord, the above words bring me to tears.
There are insufficient words to express the wonder of God experienced through Jesus.
My heart is so full this morning it just wants to burst with joy.
What more can I say?
Nothing.
What I said is sufficient. There is no need for more.
Just rest in it.
Feel the warmth of tears flow down your cheeks.
Feel the warmth of Jesus’ presence invade your being.
Feel the fullness of His Life in you.
We gaze upon Your Glory full of tender mercy and truth..... tender mercy... tender truth.
And from the overflow of His Fullness we receive grace heaped upon more grace....
Do you get it?
“His Fullness” is the fullness of God Himself.
I pray your image of God is large enough to realize the expanse of this fullness…
It is greater than the universe with it’s billions of galaxies…
It is greater than the subatomic particles that should blow apart but are held together by the power of God…
It is greater than the most intimate detail of my heart…
… and this Fullness comes to me with Grace heaped upon Grace…
How wonderful, how marvelous and my song will ever be.
